You can easily set up a parking space on ParqEx, potentially earning you money on that extra parking space!
After signing into your account, make sure you are in "Owner" mode.
To do this, select "Owner".
The Owner environment is orange and looks like this:
Select "List a Spot" on the above menu
Enter the address of the property (in this case, we used ParqEx HQ).
Choose property type from the dropdown:
Single Family Home
I don't know
For clarity, feel free to contact ParqEx support
Optional: Use advanced settings to decide if the property is open to the general public or select users only.
Click "Advanced Settings" to open the dialogue below:
Use this to add property members. Example: you're a landlord and want to restrict parking to your tenants. Add the tenant's email name and email in the fields and save.
When you're satisfied with the address, property type and any optional advanced settings, click Next at the bottom of the page:
Adding a spot
Fill in the categories provided.
This dropdown is your first opportunity to be as specific as possible. The options are as follows:
Private Residential Parking Structure
Public Commercial Parking Structure
Public Parking Structure
Private/Public Hybrid Parking Structure
Private Open Lot
Public Open Lot
Street Parking*** (use only if you OWN the space on the street)
Parking Spot Details
Check the radio button if the spot is assigned or not
If it is assigned, enter the information in the text box. It can be a number or a general description such as "Spot on the right"
Amenities - select any or all that apply. If none, this can be skipped.
Write a description for your spot, something eye catching that will attract renters. Example in the text box below:
Use the special instructions to inform renters how to access the spot
Be thorough and specific! Choose the appropriate option from the dropdown and then write additional instructions in the adjacent text box. Example:
This section addresses the final portion of creating a Spot. These steps are optional, but strongly recommended.
Upload photos of the spot. This is highly recommended, but not required. A stock photo may populate when completed.
You may also link to a YouTube video of how to access your spot. Paste the URL in the "Add a Video" text box.
Do you require extra documents, like a lease? Attach them here so renters can preview before booking.
When you're satisfied, scroll to the bottom of the page and click Next.
CONGRATULATIONS, you have just completed your SPOT! Now, let's create a LISTING and make you some MONEY!
A quick note - there is a small difference between a “Spot” and a “Listing.” A Spot is the physical location and the listing is the advertisement for renting the spot. The listing determines what orders can be placed on it.
You will see this screen. You have another opportunity to edit your pictures and any amenities on this page.
Scroll down to set your pricing and availability.
- Enter prices in the desired areas - hourly, daily, weekly, and monthly. You will see indicators on how your suggested prices compare to the area.
Set what day your spot is available. You can start it immediately, or use the Edit button to select a specific date range.
The Booking & Lead Time section allows you to set a minimum booking length, a lead time (for example, if you need to hand off a key fob, you may want the renter to book at least an hour in advance). You can also set your cancellation notice - in the example above, all of the options are the ParqEx defaults, but clicking "Edit these details" allows you to customize as desired:
Advanced pricing and availability allows you to block out certain hours, dates, and even adjust your pricing based on demand. A common example is owners living near Wrigley Field increasing their prices for home games and concerts using this tool.
List that spot by clicking List Your Spot!
If you set your spot to start immediately, it may take about 10 minutes to display. If you do not see your listing in the search, contact support.
